On this ancient Lycian trek, hikers can witness the beautiful flora ranging from rare orchids to old cedar trees and even glimpse eagles soaring on one of the Mountain ridges.
All the charming surrounding areas and places of outstanding natural beauty are close by and within easy reach of Ovacik by car or convenient minibus service. The local people have provided regular transport links for everyone to use and are always on hand to help with directions. Being a small community, Ovacik has a sense of warmth and safety. Oludeniz
Arriving at Oludeniz is a breathtaking experience. The spectacular journey up through the pine forests and mountains, peaking at the summit, and turning a corner to view the vast aquamarine Mediterranean seaside with its sweeping white sandy beach and famous Blue Lagoon guarantees that visitors gasp at the awesomeness of it all.
Oludeniz is undoubtedly the most famous beach in Turkey and the archetypal picture-postcard location. Many of the photos, of this area of outstanding natural beauty and official conservation area, are taken whilst paragliding from the summit of the enormous Babadag Mountain as the absolute beauty can only be captured fully from the skies above.
The seaside itself, famous for its shades of turquoise and aquamarine, is an official blue flag beach. Oludeniz is frequently rated among the top 5 beaches in the World and Europe's leading beach location by travellers and visitors who come here.
When visiting Oludeniz beach the extensive seafront promenade serves as the perfect place for relaxing and people watching. Oludeniz is full of fashionable visitors enjoying the array of great quality restaurants serving delicious meals both Turkish and International. Its trendy bars and cafes are original and colourful temptingly offering a huge range of refreshments and snacks.
The architecture in Oludeniz has been designed and built in the local style, low rise, set in villa-style buildings with decorative wooden balconies dripping in bright coloured foliage. Alongside the beach and dining facilities, Oludeniz offers visitors the chance to go sailing, diving and paragliding as well as visit the neighbouring islands, beautiful bays and secret coves. Not everyone is aware but, from Oludeniz there is a glorious 500 kilometre 'Lycian Way' walk which leads up through the beautiful pine clad hills eventually reaching ‘Olympos’ where the views of the surrounding splendour is well worth the trek.
